This innovative offering allows you to attract new members by providing a unique incentive - a free month of a membership tier subscription with qualifying purchases at your shop. This feature not only serves as an attractive promotion to increase sales but also as a strategic approach to expand your membership base, enhancing supporter loyalty and engagement with your brand.
How it works
- 🎉 An exclusive opportunity: When supporters spend a certain amount at your shop, they unlock the chance to add a free month of a selected membership tier to their purchase (this promotion is exclusively available to new members).
- 💰 Seamless savings: Upon opting for the promotion at checkout, the chosen membership tier is automatically included in their order at no cost for the first month. Plus, any member-specific discounts are instantly applied to their current order!
- ✅ Automated convenience: As soon as the purchase is finalized, we automatically create a member account for the supporter. They'll receive a confirmation email and find a handy “View members area” button on the order status page. The membership begins immediately, with the payment method from checkout now linked to their account.
How to enable upselling
Want to know how to enable this fantastic feature on your website? It's simple:
- Go to Memberships → Settings → Shop upselling on your website
- Select the “Offer free month of memberships with shop purchase” checkbox
- Customize your offer by choosing the membership tier for the promotion and set the minimum order value
Save your changes, and you're all set! Upselling will now be a part of your shop checkout process.
A tip to make your offer irresistible
To enhance this upselling feature, consider setting up auto-applied shop discounts for members of the selected tier. For example, your members could get 5% off their entire order. It’s a great way to make the offer even more appealing since the discount will be automatically applied in the upselling offer!
